What Bitely is
Bitely is a wellness calorie and macro diary. You can search foods, scan product barcodes with the camera, log meals, water, and activity, receive optional meal reminders, and see daily estimates based on your profile. Premium subscribers can use AI Food Scan to identify a meal from a photo, receipt, menu, or screenshot. Sign-in may use email, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google.
Bitely is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a substitute for professional medical or dietetic advice. Consult a healthcare professional before changing diet or exercise.
Estimates and sources of recommendation
Daily calorie targets use published formulas (including Mifflin–St Jeor for BMR), your self-reported stats, and standard activity multipliers for TDEE. Goal weight may apply a modest deficit or surplus. Macros follow your selected diet style.
Food nutrition may come from our bundled catalog, Open Food Facts (including barcode lookups), or an AI estimate from a photo you submit. All of these are estimates. Labels, serving sizes, community data, and model output can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for checking results before you log them. BMI categories are WHO-style adult bands for context only.
Formulas used for calorie and macro targets are published on our Source of Recommendation page. Numbers in the app are wellness estimates — not medical advice. Bitely does not sell meal plans, recipes, or clinical diet programs.
Barcode scanning and camera
Camera access is optional. Bitely uses the camera to read a product barcode and, if you use AI Food Scan, to photograph a meal. Bitely does not keep barcode preview frames. A meal photo is sent to OpenAI for analysis and is not stored in your Bitely diary. The barcode number is looked up on Open Food Facts. If a product is missing, mislabeled, or the nutrition looks wrong, do not rely on it — log a catalog item or skip it.
Optional notifications (meal reminders and updates) require your permission. You can revoke camera, photo library, or notification access in system Settings; remaining features of Bitely continue to work.
AI Food Scan
AI Food Scan is a Premium feature. You may capture a photo or pick one from your library (including a receipt or a food image on a screen). Bitely sends that image to OpenAI to suggest a dish name and nutrition. Results can be wrong, incomplete, or based on a guessed portion. You must review them before logging. Do not use AI Food Scan as medical or allergen advice.
A scan is consumed when the photo is identified as food, not merely when the camera opens. Free accounts cannot use AI Food Scan. Premium plans have daily AI and barcode limits; Yearly includes unlimited scans as shown in the app.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. The app is not directed at children under 13.
Your account
You are responsible for your login credentials and for the accuracy of information you enter, including foods logged from barcode scans and AI Food Scan. The food, water, and activity diary is private to your account. It is not a public feed, and other users cannot view, comment on, or report your logs.
You may delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account). In this version, deletion closes the account, signs you out, and blocks later sign-in with that account. Remaining closed records can be erased by emailing support@bitely.pro. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, scrape the APIs, or violate these terms.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to access other users’ data, reverse-engineer with intent to harm, or use Bitely to provide clinical care to others. Do not submit illegal content or photos of other people without a legitimate need related to logging your own meal.
Intellectual property
Bitely branding, design, and original content belong to Nxt Edge Solution. You may not copy or redistribute the app’s proprietary assets without permission. Open Food Facts data is provided under their license. AI Food Scan output is generated by a third-party model and is provided only to help you log a wellness estimate.
Third-party data
Open Food Facts data is provided under their license and terms. OpenAI processes AI Food Scan images under OpenAI’s terms. Firebase (including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging, and App Check) is subject to Google’s applicable terms. Sign in with Apple, the Apple App Store, and Google Play are subject to Apple’s and Google’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or data accuracy outside our control, including barcode nutrition results and AI photo estimates.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on estimates in the app, including weight, nutrition, barcode results, AI Food Scan results, or fitness outcomes, or for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of Bitely.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date.
